The Topanga Film Festival Suitable for All Screens Competition

Posted on Tuesday, March 9th, 2010 at 11:37 am

As we hope you’ve all noticed, The Guarani Project was invited by Urs Baur, the founder of the Topanga Film Festival, to enter in the Suitable for All Screens competition.

The winner of the Jury Award gets full production funding, and the winner of the people’s choice vote gets $1,500 in cash!

We are very excited about this opportunity. Its a chance for us to spread the Guarani Project to an even bigger audience.

Some of you might be wondering how this is going to work along side Kickstarter.

Kickstarter this still running, and we still very much need your help and support to reach out $14,500 target- we’re already 11% of the way there, and have 46 days to go.

Our plan is still to go down to South America in June for 6-8 weeks for our first research trip. We will be back in the US in August, and we’ll be able to put together a great trailer for the project to show at the Topanga Film Festival. If, thanks to all your support and the moon aligning in a favourable manner, we win the Suitable for All Screens competition, we will be able to go straight back to South America and get the rest of the doc.

Of course this is all easier said that done… but we know that we can do this with your support! So we are now asking you to do two things for us (I know, we’re very demanding)…

Please vote for us at Suitable for All Screens (5 stars all round of course)

And, continue to spread the word about Kickstarter and help us raise the $14,500 we need to get this project off the ground!

Remember every little helps… donate $5 and get a friend to do the same and you’ve doubled your contribution!

Its with your help and support that we can shed light on this never-told story. We believe it’s a lot harder for governments and corporations to destroy this resource if we’re shinning a light in their faces!

Thank you,
The Guarani Team
